Make a Difference…Volunteer!

In 1947, a group of visionary volunteers responded to the community’s needs. In the face of a polio epidemic, they acted quickly to convert a spacious residence into the Idaho State Elks Convalescent Home for Children. The hours and resources they poured into the project are still visible today at the Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital.

The years have changed many aspects of our hospital, including our location. What hasn’t changed, however, is the spirit of volunteerism at the Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital.

From the Greeters Desk to pediatrics, volunteers brighten every corner of our hospital. Though their jobs and hours may differ, the need for each volunteer is great. Like many other non-profit organizations, the Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital relies on the strengths and abilities of our volunteers to achieve our mission.

Why Volunteer?
The most obvious reason why we’d like you to volunteer is because we need you! But many of our volunteers have other reasons why they donate hours to our mission. Some like making new friends. Others, although they’ve retired, still want to put their years of career knowledge to use. Several want the chance to learn new skills.

Regardless of why they decided to volunteer, any volunteer will tell you that they keep coming back because it feels good to help others.
