Mocktail Mix-Off
There are lots of ways to celebrate the holidays and one of our favorites here at the hospital is alcohol-free! Local restaurants send masters of mixology to whip up signature recipes. Celebrities from the media participate as colorful judges! Winners are shared with the public, and we send the message that alcohol-free is the way to go!

In 1988 the Idaho Youth Wheelchair Sports Camp (IYWSC), sponsored by Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital and Boise Parks and Recreation Department, was established to provide a needed service for recreational, athletic and competitive opportunities for youth on all ability levels. The IYWSC is geared to teach, train and provide opportunities for young individuals using wheelchairs or other assistive devices (ie. crutches, walkers, and braces). Since its inception, the IYWSC has provided a variety of experiences for over 300 young athletes from Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

The IYWSC is a one-of-a-kind camp in Idaho. We have established a great tradition and loyal followers throughout the intermountain west by providing quality programming and coaching. Participants learn and enjoy activities such as tennis, basketball, baseball, canoeing/ kayaking, cycling, soccer, track and field and wheelchair mobility training. Each athlete is paired with a volunteer to assist and support as needed. The volunteers are dedicated to providing our athletes with support, training and excellent role modeling.
MISSION
The Idaho Youth Wheelchair Sport Camp is dedicated to promoting the value of health and wellness through sports and recreation. Our camp instills positive attitudes, increased independence, sportsmanship and lifetime recreational skill for youth of all abilities.

Celebrity Golf Tournament
Tee off each summer with one of our signature events. Rub elbows with “celebrity golfers” and enjoy a day of golf at SpurWing Country Club. We combine great food, a golf clinic, perfect weather and a fabulous experience for all. All proceeds support hospital initiatives.

Ethics in Youth Sports
Playing sports builds character in kids. But not if adults and kids aren’t playing by the rules. Parents, coaches, referees and spectators are invited to learn more about good sportsmanship and teaching respect on and off the field.

Easter Egg Hunt
Pediatric patients and their families are invited annually to hunt for treasures on the grounds of the hospital. Hosted by the Boise Elks Lodge members, it’s a time for joy in the sometimes tough lives of our children.

Pediatric Christmas Party
Another annual event aimed at bringing holiday cheer to our littlest patients and their families. Refreshments, gifts and most importantly a visit with Santa make this a festive and heart warming event.

National Rehabilitation Week
Every September, IERH celebrates the fact that we are the only hospital in the region solely dedicated to rehabilitation. We honor all employees with various events, a luncheon and lots of thankfulness for the good work that is done for both our inpatient and outpatient clients.

Clinics, Seminars
Watch here for ongoing clinics, seminars, training sessions or meetings dedicated to needs as they arise. We offer several support groups, continuing education and information sharing aimed at patients, our employees, and the entire community we serve.

Volunteer Activities
Nearly 200 volunteers support our hospital in so many ways. Day-to-day functions virtually help keep the hospital running smoothly. In addition, they are constantly providing fun and fund raising activities for staff, patients and families of our patients. Watch for such things as bake sales, craft sales, art sales and so much more! They keep busy and we appreciate them so much!
